Glasgow Print Fair At Home

This year Glasgow Print Fair moved online, inviting a collection of artists and printmakers to create a special print around the theme of nature. A brand new edition of The Beach Today was created specially for Glasgow Print Fair At Home, available to purchase as a limited run of 35 signed and numbered A4 prints.

Thank you to everyone who placed an order and made the print fair such a success, the collection sold out and all prints have now been posted!

The Beach Today developed on lockdown walks by the sea. Astounded by how different colours and shapes stood out from one day to the next I decided to create, photograph and share daily displays, each collection a tangible diary entry for otherwise hazy days. The Beach Today seeks new ways of looking at where and who we are during a time when all need to adapt, finding new sources of wonder in the same places.

Seaweed pressings in Gold Flake Paint

“It’s said that memories grow through your brain like the branches of a tree. Every branch is shaped by a thousand gusts of new experience, moved by each thought, left in new positions by hindsight. You, the very essence of you, lay where the roots are planted.”

Incredibly grateful to Tom and Hannah, creators of Gold Flake Paint’s music journal, for including these little pieces of seaweed and placing them so thoughtfully next to William Caston Cook’s words. It means a lot. A lot a lot.

Issue 2, ‘Winter’, of Gold Flake Paint is out now and I highly recommend making some space for it and letting it grow some bare winter branches. You can pick up a copt or a season subscription over here.
