I recently got to meet the immensely talented textile artist Hayley McCrirrick to photograph her work for an upcoming exhibition of hers. We shot in the gorgeous location of The Haining in Selkirk, overlooking a loch and surrounded by trees and wildflowers. There was a room in the building that was just filled with boxes of beautiful old books. It was a nice time.
We talked about the highs and lows of working in a creative industry - for example, high: I have a job where I can listen to someone like Hayley tell me about the delicate unpredictabilities of achieving the perfect shade of black.
